Lake Havasu is 45 miles long, located on the California and Arizona border. Lake Havasu, a portion of the Colorado River, was created with the construction of
Parker Dam in 1938. Parker Dam's primary function is to provide reservoir water storage for California and Arizona. Yet, long ago skiers and fishermen alike discovered other uses for the blue waters of Lake Havasu.
Lake Havasu was founded in 1964, Lake Havasu City was incorporated in 1974, and currently has a population of approximately 52,000. Located in Arizona’s Mohave County, it sits at an elevation of 575 feet. Havasu’s seasonal climate ranges from 45° - 69° in the winter, 60° - 88° during the spring, 82° - 110° in the summer and 52° - 90° during the fall, with a total average precipitation of 2.67 inches.
